A multi-national cereal company was searching for a method to weigh and move product before shipping to distributors. Although they were already utilizing hand pallet jacks to perform the required tasks, this manual fix was not easy for employees to maneuver. The large amounts of weight on the pallet jack were also putting the employees at risk for injuries.
In an effort to ease the situation for their employees the company purchased electric stackers to transport the heavy pallets. While the stackers eased employees’ exertion production was slowed, as the skid weight could no longer be checked at the same time as transport.
Knowing the advantages of performing two tasks at once the company began to look for a solution that would allow them to weigh with the stackers as they were able to with the manual pallet jack scales.
Solution: Weigh Point was able to incorporate their Fork-Sensed Scale System onto the stacker providing not only a method for the cereal company to weigh with their stackers, but to do so within +/- 1 lb. accuracy and without downrating the stackers with false carriage weigh systems.
